Marla.AI BattleBot: A PDF Form Filler!

Today, it only fills out one PDF, the JD250 (Colorado Small Claims) – and we are working on figuring out more forms within the next 2 weeks.

But this is a huge accomplishment because we could see the need for an AI to help people fill out paperwork. With all the problems in the world, the thing we have found we can do to be helpful is to improve paperwork. That is where we are in this moment in time.

How to use: Come up with small claims dummy data. Then talk about the JD250 form and the type of information you will have to provide, like the county and zip code.

Then you simply say, “generate a downloadable PDF form, based on the information you have.” And that’s the part that works amazingly well. You just download a PDF that neatly, perfectly, submitted text to the PDF.

It needs work, but it’s open source and we are all about community collaboration. Right now it will say “What is the zip code?” And you have to say “You tell me. Look up the zip code and I’ll verify.”

More important than the functionality is the realization that for seemingly simple stuff like this, there is nothing discoverable that’s free and requires no login. If we get popular, we will be able to fundraise for tokens and look for lower cost alternatives- getting popular and building a mailing list is a good problem to have.

This is not my greatest demo, but I just wanted to show the actual PDF generation. This video is edited and sped up slightly.
